I Had Strabismus Surgery On My Left Eye. I’m Still Feeling Inflammation With Tight Muscles. I Feel Off My Equilibrium. What To Do?

Thank you for your response.
I did see the Ted specialist and he sent a message to the doctor. Who did the Strobus surgery. I am waiting to make another appointment with him. He wants to see my measurements.
I have taken it upon myself to do eye exercises such as eye yoga. Some of these doctors just don’t believe that it will do anything to help. I feel that my eyes are more relaxed after I do the eye yoga.

Is it better to use a cold compress for inflammation or is it hot compress?

It’s great to hear you’re staying proactive in your care, and eye yoga sounds like a soothing way to help your eyes feel more relaxed—it’s all about finding what works for you, regardless of others' opinions! It’s also good that your TED specialist is coordinating with the surgeon; having that collaboration is so important.

As for compresses, both cold and warm can be helpful, but they serve different purposes. Warm compresses are often recommended for improving circulation, relaxing tight muscles, and relieving dryness. Cold compresses, on the other hand, can be better for reducing inflammation and soothing swelling. If inflammation is your main issue right now, cold compresses might offer more relief.

It’s always worth checking with your care team to tailor the approach, but you’re doing an amazing job listening to your body and trying different methods. 💛👁️

Dealing with lingering inflammation, tight muscles, and feeling off-balance after strabismus surgery can be so frustrating. While I can't provide medical advice, many people find that gentle eye exercises, cold compresses, or prescribed anti-inflammatory treatments from their doctor can provide some relief. It’s definitely worth discussing the equilibrium issue with your care team—they might have strategies or adjustments to help.

Have you had a follow-up with your surgeon about these symptoms? They might have specific suggestions to address the tightness and balance concerns. Hoping you find some relief soon—you’ve been through a lot!
